• Question: how did the big band start

      @gabbygobgob- It’s really hard to prove anything because it was so long ago but scientists think that the universe started with the big bang 14 billion years ago. At this point in time, the whole of the universe was compressed into a bubble which was a thousand times smaller than a pin head. This means it was hotter and denser than anything we can possibly imagine!

      And then………….. it suddenly EXPLODED!!

      The Universe that we know was born. Time, space and matter all began with the Big Bang. In a fraction of a second, the Universe grew from smaller than a single atom to bigger than a galaxy. And it kept on growing. In fact, it is still expanding today.

      As the Universe expanded and cooled, atoms would have formed and we would have got matter which makes up all the things we know.
