It’s tough to find a cure for cancer, because cancer cells look really like ordinary cells, so we can’t kill cancer cells without killing normal ones. What we can do is stop cancer cells from growing, so in the future it’s likely that the effective treatment will stop cancers from growing, rather than curing them. That will do, because if a cancer can’t grow, it often dies, and it only gets really dangerous if it carries on growing.
