• Question: can you become a scientist at any age?

      Of course. To be a professional scientist you usually need to go to university, so to have finished school and A levels. I’m one of the youngest scientists at my work. However, carrying out experiments at school technically makes you a scientist. There are no age limits to being a scientist, I’ve met plenty of scientists who have retired from work and then have come back as they miss science so much. At university there were also lots of older students who had decided after their first jobs that they wanted to work in science. I guess my message is that science is for everyone.

      yes of course! I became a scientist as soon as I was able to walk and could move myself around and pick up bugs. If you want a job as a scientist like Rory said, the best way to get there is going to university.
