The main thing that can change the colour or your eyes is the amount of melanin in the cells of the iris, or coloured part of the eye. Babies with light coloured skin are usually born with blue eyes however as soon as they enter to world and open them the light that hits the cells in their iris triggers the production of melanin. This is the same chemical that dictates the colour of your hair and skin. A little bit of melanin produced will give you blue eyes, a bit more will give you green and a lot of melanin will leave you with brown eyes.
