• Question: how long will it take for the earth to orbit the moon and sun

      The moon actually orbits the Earth; so the moon is continually going around and around the earth while the Earth orbits the Sun (there’s a good video of the Earth going around the Sun at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2lP146KA5A). It takes the Earth one whole year (actually 365.2563666 days) to go completely around the Sun, but it takes the moon only about a month (27.32 days) to go around the Earth. So it takes the moon just as long to go around the Sun as it takes the Earth.

      Great answer @Joe!

      I don’t know about you @roblox786 but space and the universe certainly makes my head hurt… I think it’s because the universe is so enormous and I’m used to looking at such tiny tiny things like bacteria and DNA…
