• Question: how many hours of sleep do you need each day? why?

      Hi @areehaj, It depends on the person. Some people need more sleep than others but an acceptable amount would be between 8-10 hours per night. Some people can get by on less. For instance, our former Prime Minister (leader of the country) called Maggie Thatcher used to only sleep 4 hours a night. Children and teenagers generally need more sleep because their bodies are growing. We need sleep because it is our body’s resting time and gives our brains time to process all the things we have seen in the day. If we don’t sleep, our brains start to get confused about what is real and what is a dream and this can alter the chemistry of your brain!
