• Question: when you take the mud from the bottom of the ocean have you ever found any thing in it?

      Yes, mud at the bottom of the ocean contains lots of different things in it including tiny shells called microfossils, fish teeth and the mud itself is made up of lots of ancient dead and decaying things. There are lots of microfossils in mud including some of the bugs I work with called foraminifera. Other people look at different microfossils including coccolithophores (http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/life/Coccolithophore) and pteropods which are beautiful! Only the skeleton of the microfossils get preserved and all the soft parts decay away
